Rockwool Insulation
What Is Rockwool Insulation?
Rockwool material was discovered naturally occurring in Hawaii near Mauna Loa volcano in 1850. Due to high winds blowing the molten rock during volcanic eruptions, rockwool material was found hanging from trees nearby. Rockwool Insulation has an R-Value of about 3.0-R to 3.3-R per inch and is created by spinning melted rock into fiber strands at a temperature of 3000 degrees, which is then formed into batts or blown-in insulation. Rockwool batt or blown-in insulation can be installed in a businesses, homes, pole barns and more.
Why Install Rockwool Insulation?
Rockwool is extremely beneficial as it is composed of rock and therefore non combustible. This form of insulation is highly effective at muffing noises and deadening sound waves. Rockwool does not absorb water which in turn prevents mold and mildew. Another benefit or rockwool is the durability of the product, which lasts the lifespan of the building. This product is composed of sustainable natural resources and can be blown-in or installed as batts.
