Insulate Britain

Insulate Britain is group of environmentalist activists protesting climate change by attempting to promote government funded insulation installation in Britain. 

The group is proposing two government funds: 

• 1. Retrofit the insulation in all British homes by 2030.
• 2. Insulate all British social housing by 2025.

Insulate Britain protests in hopes that their efforts would help protect the environment, curb climate change, establish energy savings and improve the economy. 

Starting on September 13th 2021, insulate Britain protesters began blocking traffic while holding up banners that said “Insulate Britain.” The group hopes to spread their message by interrupting passage on busy roads and intersections in order to force the public to listen.

The protests of Insulate Britain are supported by a variety of green political groups stating that the group’s efforts are essential in the process of lowering the emissions of Britain. However many members of the group have been arrested and sentenced to prison for constantly blocking traffic and causing a public disturbance.

The protests have subsided as of February 7th 2022 as the group declared that their efforts in establishing  government funding for insulating Britain has failed.
